The Nantucket Reuse eXchange (aka ReX) was conceived from a desire to keep perfectly good "stuff" out of the waste stream and reuse it here on our island.
The mission of the Nantucket Reuse eXchange (ReX) is to encourage and facilitate the reuse of building materials and other household items and to further the efforts of islanders in reducing their overall environmental impact on a local and global level. Our secondary mission is to encourage islanders to donate money to local charities, schools and community groups by voluntarily electing to donate a portion or all of the proceeds from sales made as a result of using the ReX website. This is not a requirement for using this website.
The website is free to all residents. Although this is a non-profit endeavor in spirit and in fact, we would gladly accept contributions to help support this website.
We are betting on good karma and that this website serves our island community in a way that other venues and outlets currently do not. If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve it, please us at contact us at info@nantucketreuseexchange.com. Any improvements you can suggest, we will consider - we think a community of dedicated people can improve the world.
Good luck with finally clearing out your basement, garage or yard!
All the best,
Nantucket Green Solutions
